Paula E. Fisher, age 58, of Union, passed away on Wednesday, Aug.
9, 1995 at St. Elizabeth Medical Ctr. Mrs. Fisher is
survived by her husband of 40 years; daughters &
son-in-law son and daughter-in-law; 3 grandchildren,
sisters & brothers-in-law. Mrs. Fisher was a
Policy/Technical Writer for Wright State University for 20+
years. Funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday;
August 12th at Carrigan & Mains Funeral Home,
Englewood. Burial at Fairview Cemetery, Englewood. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer
Society.

Richard H. Pitner, age 70, of Oakwood, died Wednesday, August 9,
1995 at Hospice of Dayton. He had worked for Tandy
Corporation (Radio Shack) and was a member of Antioch Temple,
Golden Rule F&AM of Michigan; Council Chapter Constory,
Antioch Marching Patrol, and A.A.S.R. Valley of Dayton. Survived
by his wife of 24 years, 3 daughters of Dayton, 1 daughter of
Oregon, 1 son of Oregon, 1 step-son of Dayton. Services
will be held Saturday, August 12, 1995 at 1:00 P.M. at Woodland
Mausoleum. Rev. Edward A Puff officiating. In lieu of

Minnie J. Strausbaugh, age 79, of Vandalia, died Friday, August

Blanche Marie VanBuskirk Whelan, 99, died on July 30, 1995 at her
daughters home in Cooperstown, NY. Mrs. Whelan was
born August 4, 1898 in Richmond, Indiana, the only child of
George and Etta May (Myers) VanBuskirk. She married pioneer
aviator Bernard L. Whelan, who died in 1983. World War I
having made work outside the home respectable for women, she was
employed as a stenographer and lived at the Baptist Home for
Women in Dayton, OH until her marrige in 1919. Thereafter,
she lived in Dayton; Hartford and Fairfield )where she made a
lovely garden at her home), CT and most recently in Hanover, NH
and Delray Beach, FL. Generous and empathetic in nature,
she worked as a volunteer nurses aid during World War II
and made a secure and loving home for her husband and daughter,
whose prolonged educational endeavors she supported morally and
financially. She loved animals and natural and cultivated
beauty, good food and the private serenades of opera singers.
She is survived by her daughter of Cooperstown. No public
memorial services is planned. Friends will remember, among
other qualities, her warmth, spirit and putting prowess. Donations
